Fahzi crisis

Sunday 9 p.m.

fahzi-lah got stuck behind the fence near the chicken coop and was mewing a whole bunch. I'd been asleep in the hovel-lah and didn't hear her 'til I came out and by then she was fairly desperately mewing and I wasn't 100% sure it was her 'til I saw her face poke through near the grill. I pulled the fence a little but she couldn't get through (abi probably could've but the food these cats consume has them pretty rotund).

I had to go ring the neighbor's doorbell. John Sylvie is it? Mr. Sylvie came out without a shirt (think I woke him up) and told me to come around back. We looked around the chicken coup but no Fahzi. I figured she got out through the open gate when i came into their yard, so I went back to your yard. Then Mr. Sylvie said, "She's on the back fence!" and to come back, so I came back and she jumped over the back of the fence and made her way behind to the backyard.

Meantime, I'd stuck a flashlight behind the office and right where fahzi should have been I discovered the little resident opossum sitting calmly, deer-caught-in-headlights, and looking very small and vulnerable. Very cute! Maybe it was a juvenile, I don't know, but he looked a far cry from the demon-possum who was levitating and racing around in jerky circles outside the back window on a full-moon night this past August.

Oopah-lacha or whatever he's called was calmly taking this all in but when Fahzi arrived back he berated her in a sort of paternal way, chasing after her and smacking her with his fists a bit. Then they both went to the kibble dish and ate some kibble and it was one of the rare times I've seen them both eating simultaneously without Oopah pushing everybody out of the way!

I think Fazi was distressed because she thought, well, firstly two of her pride are gone, and then I disappeared for a nap from about 4 p.m. 'til 8:00 p.m. and all the lights were off everywhere so I think she feared I'd left too and was trying to find a backdoor way into the office to see if I might actually be inside somewhere!
